coming from Alovoa/alovoa#383 (comment)

nothing is displayed upon pressing 3 dots. The UI twitches displaying horizontal scrollbar for a second, then scrollbar disappears. That's all

8 times pressing the 3 dots.
On the 2nd attempt, it briefly displays the menu which self-collapses immediately.
I blurred the area with displayed users.

Device: laptop
OS: OpenBSD 7.4
Browser: FireFox 119.0

Sounds like a browser issue, since it works on Android (#50). Is the issue still present in Firefox 124?

Latest FireFox ESR is 115.9.0 - https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/organizations/notes/
So 119 is not at all an old version. I'd call it a recent one.
JFYI, 119 is what is in the repo. The repo is synced to semiannual releases. Version upgrade is painless once per 6 months. Today, it would require me to access a different machine with fresh Firefox or compile FireFox 124 to check the issue. No-op.
Next release is due in a month. It is then that I can update FireFox.

124 is the latest regular FireFox. Your question suggests that Alovoa users need to run on the edge to use Alovoa?

Bugs and regessions happen. I wouldnt say FF 124 is runnung on the edge, since it's a stabile release.

Upgraded, FF 123.0.1 from OS repo, the 3 dots are no better

I wouldnt say FF 124 is runnung on the edge, since it's a stabile release.

"The edge" may be subject to different interpretations.
Latest dev versions - I call them bleeding edge.
FF 124 is the latest stable release, so I'd call it the edge.

Is this issue still present? Because I can't reproduce it

Yes, is still present. Just checked in

Looks like a cross-browser and cross-engine issue to me

Works on Firefox and Brave for me. Are you sure that no browser extension is interfering?

  • Supermium - no extensions installed
  • qutebrowser has a built-in ad-block, I just rechecked with content.blocking.enabled set to false - same thing
  • LibreWolf - having lots of extensions, but I just downloaded a fresh portable 131.0.3-1, and rechecked - same thing
