Hi James,

I found some Hub75 IF but they are either oversized for your cabinet or they manage only 64x64 pixels for the RPI. I have no idea where you purchased your Hub75 interface for 128x64 (and I cannot even see the brand/item-number of the microchip controllers on your video).

is possible in your opinion to use this passive IF? https://www.aliexpress.us/item/1005006363541371.html?gatewayAdapt=4itemAdapt

my idea is to improve your prj by using these screens:

....but I´ll put them upright instead of horizontal ;-) so I can bear a feasable refresh-rate but getting a bit more quality.

My interface is basically the same circuit as this one https://github.com/hzeller/rpi-rgb-led-matrix/tree/master/adapter/active-3 but with a different gpio mapping. (I made it for a different display, and it's not a terribly good fit for this one - it doesn't allow hardware pulsing of the OE line, and the connectors are in the same orientation which means the cable has to fold over on itself for the back panel).
That passive adapter has a good chance of working - a lot of these panels seem to work with 3.3v signals. But buying the panels cheap from AliExpress means that you largely don't know what you're getting until it arrives. I have one high(er) density panel that I still haven't managed to figure out the protocol for.
Vertical panels ftw.

Actually I supposed, that you made your own PCB in order to fit the upside of the RPI and to stretch the cables down to the Hub75 port... Anyway Henner recomends to use the buffer (active board). As I´m puchasing the passive one, I´ll let you know if it works or not! I do believe the buffer IC should avoid some data loss and keeping the quality of the video output better (my easy assumption).
