Primary app window (activity?) is lost/forgotten while reading article

• OS: Android 9
• APP: 0.11.1

2. Describe the bug

If the main app window has been in the background for some time (5-10 minutes plus?), usually if I've been reading an article, it will be "lost" such that closing the article returns me to my device's launcher, rather than the app its self. Opening the app again causes it to behave as if it was just oepend for the first time (brief white screen initially, then loads and refreshes my feeds.) I'm unfamiliar with Android development, but it seems as though something is being disposed of too quickly.
