Sharing layouts and themes

I've been thinking about some sort of place dedicated to sharing your custom layouts and themes with others, to be linked from the readme.
So far my ideas are either adding new categories to discussions, or enabling the wiki for everyone and maybe add some template pages for layouts and themes.

Having it in discussions would be low effort (for me), and easy to find for users, but... I don't know, I just don't like the style of the discussions section at all. Maybe it's just me though.

The wiki could be nicely organized, but does not allow for comments / discussions. And technically is a bit susceptible to vandalism (everyone can edit).

Any opinions or other ideas?

Since you're (unfortunately) the only one managing the application, I think the best solution at the moment is to create discussions.

You could, for example, impose a certain formatting in the title of the discussion so that it can be filtered and searched easily.
For example: CUSTOM LAYOUT xxx BY yyy
This way, the only thing you need to check is the title.

Or perhaps creating a dedicated repository might be a good idea?

I don't think issues in a dedicated repository would have advantages over a section in discussions. I think discussions are more suitable because you can answer to a specific top-level comment. And when using discussions, no separate repository is needed.

So I'll have a look a how to create discussions with such pre-filled text, and fields for code and screenshots.

I think when it comes to code this is not going to change anytime soon. But I think GitHub allows some sort of "moderator" permissions to users, for dealing with issues and discussions...

Ugh, it wouldn't be GitHub if I could just create template files according to https://docs.github.com/en/discussions/managing-discussions-for-your-community/creating-discussion-category-forms and have them work right away.
