make APIs (CLI, python, potentially HTTP) very closely aligned with each other (Harold). there should ideally be 1:1 correspondence

Note that these are already highly aligned. The CLI is not a standalone application - it is just a thin shell over the existing interfaces. I don't think it makes sense to autogenerate anything. Not sure if there is any action here?
