Vampire knives not giving health upon enemy hits #42

So I think it may be because weapon base damage is too high but when hitting enemies with vampire knives, sometimes you will not get the life steal effect. I dont know how to explain this and have been trying to figure out the problem for some time. If you have any thoughts on this subject they would be greatly appreciated =)
