I primarily use Obsidian on a mobile device, especially on iPadOS. Unlike macOS, which has third-party software that supports global text translation for selected text, iPadOS lacks such functionality. The built-in translation feature on iPadOS is not ideal: when selecting multiple lines of text in a PDF, it frequently adds unnecessary line breaks, making it cumbersome to use. Furthermore, it does not offer the option to choose alternative translation engines, such as Google Translate, DeepL, or APIs like ChatGPT.
It would be highly beneficial to add a translation option in the right-click context menu within the PDF plugin. This feature could allow users to select text in a PDF, translate it smoothly, and choose their desired translation engine.
