The problem is an exported character from Blender will have the embedded animations from the rig. Do this procedure:

  1. Export from Blender or whatever
  2. Import the model into Max
  3. Clear any animations
  4. Load an animation file select from the ones in the animations folder eg: soldierfemale-pistol.txt
  5. It will load in the animations list
  6. Select the animation in that list for the one you wish to have as the defaut (usually 'idle') (This is the default anim in the editor and start)
  7. Save imported model
  8. Ensure the resulting character FPE has: - ischaracter = 1 and and any other setting you wish.
    Done
