Sounds interesting! Could you maybe make a short screen recording of how that works, or some screenshots? I'm not familiar with it What I usually do when I need to tag many images in Allusion, I first narrow down the images shown in the gallery with the advanced search, then I make a selection of the images in the gallery, and tag all of them at once with the tag-editor (T). Dragging a tag from the sidebar will also apply it to the entire selection if that's what you prefer |

I'm aware of all the different options for tagging and I'm specifically talking about applying a tag with a hotkey for quickest possible tagging on individual image basis... Of course it could also be used when selecting multiple images There would be no need to open tag editor, nor dragging a tag from side bar It would be amazing to have just a simple one hotkey for a quick tagging so you could navigate the gallery view with arrow keys and just click one button to select for later organization In Lightroom you browse through imported images with sideways arrow keys (I prefer Allusion gallery view!) to quickly go through your new batch of images - You can apply different kinds of filters, but the P key is very quick tag to select good images Photographers tend to use a very small subset of their images and this kind of one by one browsing makes going through hundreds or thousands of images a breeze without any kind of extra hassle in-between Here's an area screenshot of Lightroom: After pressing P key (see below), you input the white flag i.e. Pick tag on images ... As you can see, the little white flag symbol appears now on the corner of the image, just like a tag, and later you can filter by it to only display the images you picked and proceed on editing or narrowing down your selection further Very simple, very fast! |

I agree. Another useful concept is the "tag brush". Also using a Tag Selector Sidebar: Allow tags to be selected without any image being selected, then with a hotkey or button, activate "brush" mode. In this mode, any image I click on, will have all those tags applied. This allows for extremely rapid mass tagging. |

This user to have [t] for quick tagging, doesn't that work anymore? |

I would love to have just a simple one hotkey for a quick selection tag
The tag could be fixed "quick tag" with no initial need for user customization
This idea comes from Lightroom, where you can press P to input "Pick" label
It really helps with large image batches to quickly preselect good images and then further sort from there
I know currently dragging a tag is relatively quick and easy way,
But it still requires some "hunting" to be performed by the user and takes more time than just navigating through images with arrow keys and pressing a hotkey where the focus of the user can be purely on the images instead of turning your eyes to the tag sidebar and require accuracy for selecting the tag, especially if the GUI is scaled smaller
The speed difference between these methods would accumulate into a lot of user time and nerves saved on large projects
Also, if there are new images flowing into the location, dragging the tag doesn't always "stick" to the image
