Not really an issue .. just q on linking

May sound like a dumb question .. how do you link (a href etc) this button and maintain the animation effect without the 'a href' immediately going to the linked page and eliminating the animation?

I've been on stackoverflow looking at stuff like this > https://stackoverflow.com/questions/8775541/delay-a-link-click

for link delay etc.
