  • I have searched the existing issues, it does not exist.

What is the unexpected behavior?

If you open vitals, at the bottom there are 3 icons: reload, open sys-monitor, settings.
If you uninstall gnome-system-monitor (the default sys-monitor) the icon becomes gray, because the application is uninstalled (which makes sense)

But if I uninstall gnome-system-monitor and set another sys-monitor e.g. resources as default (under the vitals settings), the icon stays gray.

Steps to reproduce the unexpected behavior.

  1. Install vitals extension
  2. Open vitals upper-right-corner (the open system-monitor-icon should be white and opens the gnome-system-monitor)
  3. Uninstall gnome-system-monitor
  4. Open vitals upper-right-corner (The icon becomes gray and when clicking on it an error message appears that gnome-system-monitor is not available)
  5. Open vitals settings and set the system monitor to e.g. resources.
  6. Open vitals upper-right-corner and open the system monitor (it works but the icon is gray)
