vitals cause gnome to crash when resuming from suspend / hibernate

What is the unexpected behavior?

should not cause gnome crash

Steps to reproduce the unexpected behavior.

1. enable vitals
2. suspend
3. wake
4. gnome crashes and user get kicked back to login screen

Not saying it isn't happening, but I haven't heard of this issue since the first year of development. This extension has many downloads and no one else is chiming in...
