Maintenance Notice

This is to clarify how this fork should be used.
The team at cleverjs is currently unable to give love to the saml2-js library they have developed. That‘s totally fine, other events might strike our paths, but I took over the maintenance since I use this for some private projects.

Things that will be maintained

• Existing functionality, including bugfixes
• Dependency Updates / Vulnerability
• Reviewing and merging Pull Requests coming from you

Things that will not be maintained

• Migration from Coffeescript 1 to 2 or even TypeScript

Please understand that I‘ll make sure to respond to PRs and maintain deps from time to time, having dependabot helping me, but in the end my resources are also limited. Should you not get answers within a week, please hmu.

The versioning started off parallel to the original at cleverjs, and will follow semver. Breaking changes will always be indicated on releases and in the changelog file.

For version 5 and for now, it is that Node versions below 16 are no longer supported.
Considering that Node 16 is EOL since Sep 2023, you, might wanna do yourself a favor anyway and update your node version :)
