tl;dr - Let's reactivate this repo for feature development

We are working on similarity search for stac-browser. See:

• Labs discussion
• Tarashish demo PR

Considering that now @AliceR, @sunu, @j08lue, me, and others are working on this as a group, I think it makes sense to move the work here, where everyone has write permissions and it would be easier to coordinate contributions.

But this fork is pretty old, with a master branch whose last commit was seven years ago.

I pushed a new main branch from upstream to start syncing this. The last step would be to change the default branch from master to main. It doesn’t seem like we have anything connected to the master branch, and I’ll proceed with the change next week. Please let me know otherwise if this might affect anything.
