AppCenter currently supports appstream:// links to AppCenter apps. I think this function could be used in a "Get on AppCenter" button like the Google Play button or the iOS App Store button.

I made a sample implementation at https://github.com/jepotter1-archive/appcenter-button. Such a button could be recommended to developers after they finish uploading their app so they can then post an AppCenter link to their GitHub, website, etc.

This is something we have designed and talked about during the Devner sprint. I will let @danrabbit or @cassidyjames talk about it.

We're currently recommending the “AppCenter by elementary” badges from https://github.com/elementary/mockups/blob/master/web/appstream-button1.svg. And yeah, appstream URLs are the way to go!

There are markdown branches now here: https://github.com/elementary/houston/wiki/Markdown-Badges

So I guess we just need to throw a toast :)
