Is there a way to customize the scale of the virtual gamepad in the android app?

Was trying to play a game on my phone, but the controls were very tiny and easy to miss. Scoured through the settings but found nothing about changing the controls scale (i found the setting that changes the whole UI, but now the whole app was really big)

You can scale the UI as you already found. But you can also edit the layout of the on screen gamepad in Settings > Controls > Virtual Gamepad > Edit Layout. There you can change the size of individual controls by pinch & zoom.
