I started receiving HTTP 429 errors after just a couple of invocations of the program. Would it be possible to cache the data somewhere for a limited time so it doesn't need to be re-requested when just trying out different combinations of parameters?

It 100% would. However, I've moved on to other projects in the last several months, and I no longer have time to contribute to this repository. If I come back to make improvements, this and other efficiency enhancements will be at the top of my list of new features. I'm going to keep this issue open and pin it so that anyone that wants to contribute can.

I'm happy to merge/review PRs!
