I'm using AVNC on an external display via Androids desktop-mode. In desktop-mode the header bar obscures part of the remote screen of the remote desktop.
Afaik the only way to fix this is to add desktop support (especially Customizable header insets).
I believe this is similar to #23, but for the upcoming "stock android" desktop-mode.

PS: Otherwise AVNC is completly useable for me in desktop-mode and while I can see the possibly issues mentioned in #194, I connect my phone via an USB-C dock to a full seat with mouse + keyboard + display and for that it's working perfectly fine :)

I don't have a Pixel device so I tried in Android Emulator. I was able to show header bar by enabling Desktop mode, and it indeed obscures part of activity. However,

  • It seems to affect every app
  • It doesn't appear to be quite the same thing as described in linked article for Android 15.
  • Most importantly, window insets provided by Android in this mode gives no information about header bar. So I don't know how apps can handle this.
