Is there any way of cleaning up completed Jira tasks from Jira projects?

It seems that completed Jira tasks never get removed from the Jira project, even after they're completed.
The JQL query I use currently returns 38 tasks in Jira, but my Jira project in Super Productivity now has more than 400 issues, and it just keeps growing.
Is there a way to prevent that?

Not entirely sure it's relevant, but I found this existing issue: #2517

But I'm not sure my query is correct either. What is the expected behaviour when an existing issue disappears from the query?
If I filter out issues that have been resolved in Jira, but that I haven't touched in SP, maybe it's normal that SP just keeps them? Or is SP actually supposed to update all existing Jira tasks regardless of whether they match the importing query, and remove them when they don't match anymore?
