It amazed me as well at the time, but it was the only way to make it work. I made pictures during my built, but I can't find them anymore. I'll look on my other laptop tomorrow, hope to find it there. |
That is very interesting. I have not taken measurements of the jack rings, but it might be (to the contrary on the picture) that the tip is gnd and the signal is on the sleev. |
Logically, it should indeed. I copied the info from this thread: https://www.c2forum.com/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=199082&p=532456#p532482 But I could have interpreted it wrong. |
I dont think this post says which is ground and which is signal. I suspect they are the other way around, but I may try to measure it with a multimeter next time I am at the gym (its already dodgy when I connect my level shifter any way :D) |
@JaapvanEkris are you sure that the wiring on the below picture is correct:
I mean shouldnt the signal connected to the positive and gnd to the negative terminal?
