Using insert image, it automatically adds a slash to the beginning of the image path.

e.g. /assets/images/myimage.jpg

I need to remove the first slash so it will work.
assets/images/myimage.jpg

What's the best way to set what is prepended?

While this is a pretty old issue, i believe this is related to your media source configuration (see baseUrl & baseUrlRelative properties).
