I recently started setting up a laser-plasma accelerator beam transport beamline using Wake-T, but a while into it, I realized that some features that I really need are not available or are not obvious how to use. Most of these features are available in Ocelot, but the APL is not, as far as I can tell.
My beamline consists of an active plasma lens (APL), some quads, and some dipoles. I need to be able to calculate imaging parameters, and therefore, I'd need to retrieve the transfer map elements of beamline sections. In this context, I'd also have to get transfer map elements of the APL, which I suppose could be modeled as a quadrupole with the same focusing polarity in both planes. Any beam-plasma interaction I would obviously have to simulate elsewhere, but the basic optics/tracking would be very valuable to be able to simulate in Ocelot.
Is there any chance of an APL being implemented as a beamline element? It's not obvious to me how to do it myself...
Best regards,
Jonas
