When the previewer is not updating, it is sometimes hard to know: is the server crashed? Out of reach? Is the client bugged? Other?

It would be nicer to have a small UI showing what is happening during the synchronization.

Moreover, it would be nice to store the hash of the current step to be able to reload the page without losing the state.
