Description
PyPI Username
[rbd]
Reason for request
I created a pypi account with email address "[email protected]" and I can receive verification requests, but when I follow the verification link and enter my email address and password, the "Log in to PyPI" page says "No user found with that username" -- I suspect you do not handle RFC-compliant email addresses that contain "+" characters. (Our email processor strips off everything beyond "+" and it functions essentially as a cookie to track the source for sorting by role or function and as an identifier in case my personal information is released.)
Assuming there's a bug on your end, you now have an "orphan" account (rbd) that cannot be verified and therefore cannot be removed or altered. Options in order of preference (high to low) are:
- Solve the problem so I can use [email protected]
- Change the account address to [email protected] (but I cannot do this)
- Create a new working account, e.g. rbdannenberg, with an new address and leave the orphaned "rbd" account.
Please help.
Thanks,
Roger
