Reasons for the request

The "pymd" project received its only version on December 9, 2013, and has not received any updates for over 10 years. My project, on the other hand, is a new tool, different from the original project registered on Pypi.org. My project uses the "MarkitDown" library to convert various files specifically to a MarkDown file/format, which is why I decided to name it "pymd" (Python Markdown).

I couldn't find the project owner's email, so I added an issue to his repository (pymd) formally requesting it.

I want to add that the original owner of the project responded to me, saying that she would review my request in the next "weeks", however I would like to expedite the process :)

We don't "expedite" PEP 541 requests, since we want to be very diligent when it comes to owners' wishes about whether or not they wish to transfer their projects to someone else. There is also a process that we need to follow as indicated in the PEP. We are working to contact the owner to determine if they're reachable and have sent them a courtesy message.

Final determination regarding project ownership will be made when the research process involved in PEP 541 issues is complete.

Hi @tutosrive,

The owner of the project has replied back and they do not wish to transfer their project. I know this was probably not news that you wanted to hear, but, per PEP 541 rules, unfortunately, we cannot approve your request. I would suggest going with another project name.
