Reasons for the request

Our lab has developed a python package, voxel, for analysis of 3D medical images. Transferring project ownership and releasing the tool through PyPi would help us better distribute our tools for clinical use and research.

The current ownership of the voxel PyPi project appears abandoned / never used for the following reasons:

• The release and github code contain an empty python package
• The first and only release (v0.1.0) was 9 years ago in September, 2016
• The associated github code has only one commit and has been untouched in 9 years
• I have not heard back from the project owner and have reached out multiple times over the last year

Contact and additional research

Multiple members of our team reached out to the owner over email last May and August, 2024. We received no response. We used the contact address listed on both the PyPi project page and the owner's personal webpage.

In March (three months ago) I opened up an issue on the associated github repository, with no response.
