Hello,
My name is Ronja Krueger, and I am studying B.Sc. IT-Systems Engineering at the Digital Engineering Faculty of the Hasso Plattner Institute and the University of Potsdam. I am currently working on a research project at the Chair of Data Analytics and Computational Statistics under Prof. Dr. Bernhard Renard (https://hpi.de/renard) in cooperation with the Institute of Cancer Research (ICR).
I attempted to register the package name pepsi on PyPI but received a conflict notice, presumably because it matches the trademark 'PepsiCo, Inc.'. My work is dedicated entirely to the bioinformatic analysis of peptide sequences and has no connection whatsoever with the company, products, or services of PepsiCo, Inc.; therefore, any confusion or association with the brand is ruled out.
I would like to add that 'PEPSI' is an established acronym in peer-reviewed literature:
