Small Questions on the Issues that are now uploaded

Hi, I am emmanuel who has been wanting to contribute to the Korean translation of the repo.

I am a NLP researcher for East African Languages (and also a fluent speaker of Korean).

Using my weekends and some of the time freed via summer vacations, I have read through the related materials on CPython Docs Translations (official sites regarding pomerge or transifex, Korean sites, and so on, also learning how to use transifex).

I believe that at OpenSW, the issues are where I might start with, possibly some small easy ones.

Yet, as I notice, the issues are opened and closed almost at the same time (and there are just too many - so I should assume that it is automatically created and closed?) so I am rather confused regarding whether the issues are the ones that I can look into.

Or, is this repository of rather privately maintained for some Korean maintainers? if so, am I allowed to suggest commits or make some pull requests?

I reckoned on where would I put this question but I believed that this issue should be the most appropriate - as discord can be possibly distracting, as there are many, much more important things to discuss, sincerely speaking.

PS I believe in the importance of translation (due to the various possible cultural contexts) and also believe that CPython is the best community whatsoever, so please consider such an intension of awe-inspired enthusiasm

I don't quite understand what you mean. Could you provide a specific issue number that corresponds to what you mentioned?

sir, what I meant is those with the pattern as the capture, as I have turned on the email alerts, I capture the emails.

I have read the #1073 - but thought it is a wonderful tool (transifex) so I have studied.

with all due respect, sir, my confusion is as follows: as far as I understand, the python community has principle of warm welcome for anybody. I just wanted to use my free time to help the Korean translation, but it seems very very very closed... for example, if I am trying to use a new tool (such as transifex) to see the possible effectiveness of the tool for the Korean language on the Python Docs in Korean, how may I try? is there any way at all possible to try a new thing as a new try-out ? (I know that there must be a chain of command for organization but in my experience, open SW always are open to new try-outs although many are reckoned not to be fully implemented) However, respectfully, sir, It feels like that it is solely up to you, not the community. I am using it as an example but rather frustrated.

The confusion is, I do not know other ways to ask, whether this project is your private project ? (I am genuinely asking - because if it is, I am already done with the project).

If it is your private project as a hobby, please forgive my intrusion. I thought it is one of the official python ones.

PS ( I edit this message after my first draft, adding some tone-style-changes, to show my full concerns in cautious tone. Moreover, what I truly mean is, that my intention is just to hang out in the open sw community without some burdens on sensing the complex tone from some important people, as I am one of those some might call or name as neurotic or neurodivergent, there I just wanted to have some person to person conversations with the python community as I believe that it is the most egalitarian and the most wonderful community some can ever imagine - which I loved just so much - because I believe in such values - there, please understand that I am merely just genuinely curious about the nature of this repository, sir. )

As you can see from the screenshot you sent, I closed about five issues per day. Not a surprising number. They were small issues, so I was able to handle them quickly. No automated processes were involved.

I have no intention of preventing you from studying and using Transfix or other good tools. Please try them if you need to.

However, it seems that you are requesting us to use another tool in parallel with our current one. Before doing so, you need to analyze and propose what benefits can be gained, whether it will cause any problems with our current (and planned future) tools or processes, whether it will create new management burdens, and if so, who will be responsible for those burdens. Transifex is not a trivial issue.

We reviewed Transifex a few years ago and rejected it because we did not reach a positive conclusion. Things may have changed since then, but I do not have the time to review it (again) at the moment. If you (or someone else) conducts a thorough analysis and makes a proposal, I will consider it.

Let's focus on translation. Anyone can submit a PR.

Great! then can you give me the logs of the previous discussion regarding transifex (the one that a few years ago that you guys did? to follow up!

(I am not requesting anything I was just curious about those - because there must be some reasons that many others use, but apparently you are saying that Korean language do not have such common lingual or computational requirements - so I am merely fascinated by the difference and wanted to look into deeper, as a researcher on language, who loves python and sincerely admires python community)

BTW, I believe that you are saying that it is open sw python repo then.

as a side note, who are 'we'? I am simply curious because I see only your names (and Mr. Ulbrych or Mr. Na time to time but I believe that they are not involved particularly on this repo) - I am simply curious to search by names and follow up the discussions between you guys.

The page you mentioned is a legacy project guide page. It will be replaced with a new one.
