for some reason the 1.18.2 forge workspace is broken (apparently classpath resources are just Fucked, including the mixin json) even though the buildscripts are the same apart from version numbers. no idea why
I know. Originally each version was developed in a separate branch; when making a cross-version fix I'd run a bunch of git checkouts and cherry-picks. This sucked, so I've now hastily pasted the source of everything as subprojects into the same file tree. But the sources are otherwise unmodified from that development period.
Eventually I hope to publish a v3 that addresses some long-standing issues in the mod (i am so, so sorry about this "json config format") while moving most of the logic into a reusable, version-independent "core" module. That will come at a later time.
A couple people (including me) stuck with 1.19.2 when .3 dropped, because it was a ridiculous internal overhaul that added nothing user-facing of note. Imo the situation is a little bit different in .4; the sum of .3 and .4's user-facing changes is barely enough to bother porting; it's kind of bordering on asking "where's 1.16.1"
I've decided to drop 1.17 due to extremely low adoption from the playerbase. I think the mod got like 22 downloads and most of those were surely the 9minecaft bots.
I only ported the mod to Forge in 1.18. The Gradle subproject structure is an anachronism and there was never a 1.16 Forge version. I am interested in producing a port to this version (provided ForgeGradle cooperates).
