Hello,

The tip-shape colour doesnt change when i press "by user selection" in the tip shapes tab.
I have been trying to change the tip-shape colours of branches but what ever I do they stay black.
Is there a way to change tip-shape colours. For branches and taxa sames you can simply select and change colour, is there anything similar?
I have seen publications where this is possible, a circle at the tip of the branch, coloured differently.

Thank you

Hi. It should work that way but it doesn't at the moment. For no you need to create a new annotation, annotate the nodes with a label, and then do colour by and select your annotation.

Hi,

I am also looking to colour my tip shapes (by year in this case), I have a metadata annotation file which includes the year and I can add/colour tip labels - but not the tip shape itself which is what I'm after for my figure.
Looking at your comment above, am I supposed to add the colour by option to the input tree file alongside the information in that which shows up in the tip shape colour options (height, length, rate, posterior etc), I don't see any of my other metadata options in the drop down.

Any help on this would be very much appreciated!
Thanks
