The naming "Sample" and "Sample Type" under the create pull down menu does not convey the right meaning. In terms of an experiment Sample would refer to a biological material, e.g. cells, proteins, tissues etc. What we are conveying here is a record or a row in datafile. This naming is misleading. Stefan Helfrich also agrees with my opinion. Can we look into this please?

Can be done in the UI by configuring the IBISBA instance. This is similar to how SOP is renamed Protocol. Needs time and is boring.

Note will not change API.

We all agree that the names are are bit misleading, and have know this for a while, but are difficult to change without confusing users, for historic reasons
We also don't think there is a single term to is suitable for every instance, without being very generic like Object, as it can depend on the domain and specific field
As @alaninmcr mentions, the proposal is to make the labels configurable, using localization, for each specific instance - such as how for IBISBA SOP is renamed as SOP
