How to make auto-complete + Tab act like auto-complete + click-select

This is hard to explain, but here goes. If I allow the typeahead to auto-complete, then select a list item from the drop-down list of suggestions with the mouse and press Enter, then the long/lat coordinates populate the hidden fields, and the correct results appear. However, if I allow the typeahead to auto-complete, then press the Tab key to select a list item instead and press Enter, the long/lat coordinates that are supposed to accompany the selection do not get populated in our hidden fields. Can you help me identify what code I need to add/change to fix this? Thank you.
