Why did we choose different retention types for different annotations?

It's come to my attention that the annotations defined in the DDD module are using runtime retention, whereas the ones declared in the architecture modules are using class retention. Does anyone remember whether we deliberately did that? And if so, why?

+1 on understanding this. I thought I'd raised an issue about this, as it means we're unable to use annotations in i.e. ArchUnit rules, too

Again, as already stated in xmolecules/jmolecules-integrations#100, the annotations are found by ArchUnit as it doesn't use reflection but readys the classes via ASM, so that RetentionPolicy.CLASS works just fine.
