This is the first release where I made all my source code, notes, tools, etc. available for people to download (see here - will eventually merge into this repo). I don't consider the script to be perfect, but I think it will likely be as good as I can get it on my own (take that for what you will).
There hasn't been a release in the past six months because, frankly, working on Otogirisou wasn't my main priority. Instead, it was investigating and translating the Super Famicom version of Kamaitachi no Yoru. I want to be done with this project for Otogirisou and focus mostly/entirely on Kamaitachi.
This being said, if you do want to help with the script, or if you want to use my tools as a basis for translating into another language, please let me know!
Updates since last patch:
- More script refinements.
- Improved the font's drop shadow subroutine to make text more readable when the background graphics are solid white.
- Changed the width of the space character with encoding
0000
to be a constant 2 pixels. In the original Japanese game, it would reuse the width of the previously printed character. - Updated tileset for the file select prompts like
Start
,Cancel
,Resume
, etc. to have more consistent spacing.
