I'm Cynthia Welinga! This is my coding playground. I'm learning about making contributions to open-source, creating impactful technology, and building a digital community. I am a software engineer at Morgan Stanley, a Blogger and a Technical Writer.

I have been a Data Engineer for the past 4 years, working on engineering data pipelines and data platforms. I am currently transition into a GenAI developer role where I will focus on building vector databases for internal business functions.

I code in Python and SQL and have experience with Java, C++, HTML & CSS and Scala. I am always learning new things. I write about data privacy, big data, technoculture and adventures of a 20-something Kenyan girl in New York City. I quite enjoy it all. I love and listen to music during most of my free time, specifically Reggae and Afrobeats, & I enjoy running.
