Welcome to the Lynox wiki!
Check out SEF!: SEF
Somethings to know:
- This is an OS that by the name is visible that its meant to be like Linux which is kind of ironic because Linux was meant to be like Unix, so its kinda a paradox, anyways, this is a community OS, even though me, PratyushKing whos writing this sentence owns this project as a name, but its still will be credited to all of the contributors who make it better, so please contribute!
- This OS has a discord server (https://discord.gg/Zat9XVd2SZ) and it must be joined if wished to contribute.
- Please remember that this OS is/will never be perfect, so please dont go on and actually use it as a Linux replacement.
- Do note that this project will be solely a niche operating system and not some high-scaled OS like Linux is, but we try our best.
- Huge thanks to the cosmos community that allows this project to be written.
Building:
- You must have Cosmos DevKit which as of right now is my fork of the project which is a stable version thats used to to build this project. It's a stable kit so it will not change atleast for a while.
- You must have basic requirements like Visual Studio 2022 and a cloned copy of this repository (
git clone [the URL of repo]
) followed by free version of VMWare to build. - You must have common sense and brains to execute and debug.
Using: You must either have a virtual machine with a vmdk made for the OS or you shall build it yourself or run with no filesystem (next to impossible) or try a crazy idea of using it on real hardware. (most reliable is building)
That's all! Have a nice while and please join the discord server if you wish to contribute.
