This branch adds changes that fallback to a version of google test that works with nvhpc since NVIDIA's compiler does not properly set the c++ version and cannot handle google test. Google test depends on c++14, but even when setting that standard for the compiler, nvidia's lack of proper standard compliance means we can't compile google test.
To be compliant with c++11, I had to make many changes.
