Hi This Is Fern 🌿

I'm a big math and computer nerd especially interested in web technologies along with personal computing, dev tooling, and local-first software. I've worked everywhere doing everything from engineering at Google and non-profits to founding my own company and teaching in public schools. Most recently I wrapped up a batch at the Recurse Center in Summer 2024 and am now a Software Engineer at withco building tools to empower small businesses.

  • 🧠 Learning: Machine Learning (via ARENA) and Measure Theory (via Axler)
  • 🔨 Main Project: PITP - an open-source, self-hosted party advertising system
  • 💬 Interests: Literally any math, browsers, private computing, and professional esports
  • 👾 Games: league (retired to ARAM), vampire survivors, and waiting for the Hades 2 official release
