Project Objective

The main objective of this project was to use data analysis techniques to better understand the dynamics of crime in the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires. Various sources of crime data, such as police reports and complaint data, were explored to identify patterns, trends, and critical areas.

Technologies Used

  • Relational Databases: General database concepts and SQL queries were used to access and manipulate crime data.
  • Power BI: Interactive dashboards were designed and developed using Power BI, leveraging the capabilities of DAX (Data Analysis Expressions), Power Query, and the M language for advanced analysis.
  • Data Analysis: Exploratory and descriptive data analysis techniques were applied to extract meaningful information from the datasets.

Repository Structure

  • Dashboard: Folder containing the Power BI file with the developed dashboard.
  • Raw Data: Folder containing the datasets used in the analysis.
  • Processed Data: Folder containing the data modeling.

Results and Conclusions

The data analysis provided a detailed view of the distribution of crime in the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires, identifying areas with high and low crime rates, as well as potential contributing factors. The dashboards developed in Power BI allow for interactive visualization of the data, facilitating understanding and decision-making.
