This is the separate fix for issue #8 https://github.com/jcsteh/reaKontrol/issues/8.
While it only addresses this particular issue, please note that it is based on the previous pull request #7 https://github.com/jcsteh/reaKontrol/pull/7. It thus shows a lot of changes compared to your current master which has not yet pulled #7.
