MCL 4.60
Firmware Upgrades
MCL version 4.60 requires that you upgrade:
- MegaCommand USB Microcontroller Firmware to 1.04 to enable USB MIDI.
Follow instructions in megacmd_usb_dfu_1.0.4.zip - Machinedrum OS to version X.11
- Monomachine OS to version X.01A

MCL Upload instructions:
Binary (mcl_4_6_0.hex) file containing the MCL OS has been provided below.
For MCL 4.20 and above, Hold down the < Page > button when powering-on to enter the boot menu and then select OS UPGRADE.
This will place the MegaCommand's USB chip in to Serial Mode such that in can receive the MCL OS update.
Windows
Windows users can use the included Xloader_MegaCommand_2022.zip program to upload the correct binary.
Select Device MegaCMD or MegaCommand depending on your hardware.
Mac
Mac users can use the Paul Kaplan's hex uploader tool HexUploader_2022.zip downloadable below.
(The legacy arduino IDE 1.8.x must be installed first: https://www.arduino.cc/en/software/OldSoftwareReleases)
HexUploader Settings:
For MegaCMD
- Arduino Type: MegaCMD
- SerialPort: The MegaCMD will usually show up as usbmodemXXX when connected.
- Baud: 115200
For MegaCommand
- Arduino Type: ATmega 2560
- SerialPort: The MegaCommand will usually show up as usbmodemXXX when connected.
