📋 Prerequisites

🔧 Setup

1. Clone the repository with submodules:

   git clone --recursive https://github.com/lelandstocks/LelandStocksDiscordBot.git

2. Install dependencies: Ensure you are in the project directory, and then install the required Python packages:

   pip install -r requirements.txt

3. Configure environment variables: Create a .env file in the project root and add the following variables:

   DISCORD_BOT_TOKEN=your_discord_bot_token
   DISCORD_CHANNEL_ID_Leaderboard=your_leaderboard_channel_id
   DISCORD_CHANNEL_ID_Stocks=your_stocks_channel_id
   PATH_TO_LEADERBOARD_DATA=your_leaderboard_data_path
   TESTING=false  # Set to true for testing mode

4. Run the bot: Start the bot with the following command:

   python bot.py

5. Automate with a script: You can use the provided run.sh script to automatically fetch updates and restart the bot as needed:

   bash run.sh
