<h2>Pre-compiled binary releases?</h2>

<p>
Due to the diversity of platforms in use, we don't currently
have any pre-compiled binary releases of YARP. Compiling from
source is what you need to do.
</p>

<p>
There are a few use cases where people just want to run the yarp
<a href="user/html/yarp.html">companion utility</a>, or some yarp based program (such as
a <a href="http://people.csail.mit.edu/paulfitz/pub/fitzpatrick07towards.pdf">humanoid interface, or a simulator</a>)
rather than use YARP as a library for their own code.
So we are looking at making binary releases.
</p>

<p>
There is a partial, experimental binary version of yarp and a humanoid
simulator for Windows here: <a
href="http://eris.liralab.it/yarp/downloads/yarp/win32/">experimental
win32 binary</a>.
</p>

<p>
There is a partial, experimental binary verion of yarp for i86 linux
here: <a
href="http://eris.liralab.it/yarp/downloads/yarp/linux-i386/">experimental
Linux i86 binary</a>.
</p>

<p>
Your mileage will vary.
</p>
