According to https://devcenter.heroku.com/articles/stack-packages the git CLI is no longer available at runtime on the heroku-24 stack. So far we have been using the heroku-22 stack, where it was available. Using the apt buildpack allows us to ensure that the CLI is available also on the newer stack.

Note that this has already been tested on our staging environment :)
