DIY Pedal Resources

I like to build guitar pedals.

These files are my own for my own purposes. You can use them if they help you.

They come with no obligation to help or guarantees of correctness.

Usage

This requires a level of knowledge and I won't go into the basics. If you know where I lurk, hit me up and I will do my best.

Prereqs: git and golang installed.

  1. Clone this repository
  2. Create a build list of pedals to build which conforms to the schema in pedal-buildlist.schema.json (I use VSCode). Do this in the ./builds/ directory. The default is "pedal-buildlist.json"
  3. Use the ./builds/build-bom to build the bom. Change to the ./builds directory and run:
./build-bom -buildJson pedal-buildlist.json

build-bom is built from https://github.com/szukalski/pedal-parser

Useful Things

https://www.convertcsv.com/csv-to-json.htm

echo ""|sed 's/ /\n/g'|sed 's/ //g'|grep '^[0-9]'

1590B Top Mount

  • On enclosure face
    • Use PedalPCB drill template 9mm down from top of enclosure for pots
    • Use PedalPCB drill template at bottom for footswitch and LED
  • On enclosure top
    • Make line 11mm from edge of enclosure (edge where lid sits)
    • Make marks on line 17mm from each side for the 1/4" jacks
    • There should be 25mm between jack positions, dissect and mark in the middle (mid point of the enclosure width)
    • Mark 6mm above the 11mm in the center for the DC jack

1590B Top Mount Alternate

  • I measure carefully and use a drill press! To get just enough room for the Lumberg jacks I measure in from the sides 16mm and from the lower lip of the enclosure 9mm.
  • The DC jack is in the centre laterally and 10mm from the top of the enclosure. These are the hole centres.
  • The input jack does hit the gain pot and at first is at an angle, but as you tighten the nut it straightens up and I rarely have issues.
