At the TT-AvData telecon on 27 Jan 2021 it had been agreed to take a more systematic approach on the development of IWXXM. This include creating a wiki page on GitHub with the following details to facilitate team members to valid and endorse the proposed changes for subsequent actions (e.g. open consultation, preparation for submission for approval, etc.):

  1. the reasons/requirements for having the new release;
  2. mind maps of the proposed changes;
  3. the resulting UML diagrams and schemas;
  4. instances to test the changes; and
  5. proposed release notes.

While the team has no strong views with regard to exposing the details of developing concepts and implementations, readers are warned that none of the schemas, schematron rules, sample instances, and other information, are final. USE AT YOUR OWN RISK. Always refer to WMO No.306 Vol.I.3, http://schemas.wmo.int and http://codes.wmo.int for published information on IWXXM.
